MY RESEARCH

My research interests transcend a number of areas and fields, influenced by my professional and personal current and past experiences. 

For many years I have been interested and drawn to the theories of Sociocultural and interpretative paradigms. Thus you will see some of my thoughts on these concepts shared within my blog.

The context of my research revolves around the rationale for and role of the use of the concept of a 'lay majority' on a regulatory board. So discussions on theories of regulation, governance, the expert, fitness to practice and even the ideal citizen are all likely to feature also.

Finally as I fine tuned the methodology and approach a variety of possibilities were explored as I honed in on one that best suits my approach, aims,  philosophy and practicalities.  I have thus landed on an action research approach.  Discussions on the theories and practice of action research will also be recounted.
